While the main circuit around the peaks is a must-see, the lesser-known trails offer a chance to experience the beauty of Tre Cime from a unique perspective, away from the crowds.
If you're looking to go beyond the obvious, here's how you can explore the hidden gems of this iconic region.

1. Trail 105: The Valle della Rienza Experience

Starting from the town of Landro, Trail 105 is a hidden treasure for those looking to escape the busier routes. This trail leads you through the serene Valle della Rienza, offering a different view of the Tre Cime peaks. The path is less trafficked, allowing you to enjoy the natural beauty in peace. As you hike, you'll pass through forests and meadows, with the towering peaks serving as a constant backdrop. This trail is ideal for those who appreciate tranquility and are eager to explore the region's rich flora and fauna​.
Parking: Usually ample parking is available, and the trailhead for Trail 105 can be accessed from the parking lot in Landro.
Trail Length: Approximately 11 kilometers (around 7 miles) and is considered a moderate hike. It takes about 4-5 hours to complete.

2. Cadini di Misurina: A Rugged Detour

The Cadini di Misurina trail provides a thrilling detour from the main Tre Cime route for a more rugged adventure. 3. The Pian di Cengia Refuge Path

This lesser-known path begins near the popular Rifugio Locatelli but quickly veers into quieter territory. The route to Pian di Cengia Refuge is less crowded and takes you through rocky landscapes that feel like another world. The refuge itself is perched at an elevation of 2,528 meters, offering a perfect spot to rest and take in the breathtaking surroundings. 4. Rifugio Bonacossa: A Peaceful Escape

For those seeking a more leisurely hike, the trail leading to Rifugio Bonacossa is a peaceful escape. This path winds through lush forests and open meadows, offering glimpses of Tre Cime from a distance. The refuge is a lovely place to stop for a traditional Italian meal, making it a perfect destination for a relaxed day hike. The atmosphere here is calm and serene, starkly contrasting the busier areas around the main peaks​.
TrailHead: Typically starts from the Auronzo Hut, which can be accessed by car from the nearby towns. Parking is available near the Auronzo Hut, making it a convenient starting point.
Trail Length: It is around 6 kilometers (3.7 miles), and it generally takes about 2-3 hours to reach the refuge.
